How they are built
Clear polycarbonate panels alternate with steel laths. The steel carries the load and provides the security; the polycarbonate fills the gaps. More steel for strength, more panel for visibility — your choice.
Polycarbonate is not acrylic and not glass. It is what machine guards are made from, and it takes a serious impact without shattering. It does scratch more easily than glass.

Living with them
- Cleaning — soft cloth and mild soap. Solvents and abrasives craze the surface permanently.
- Scratching — marks more easily than glass, but panels replace individually.
- Cost — noticeably higher per sq ft. This is a showroom product, not a godown one.

Is polycarbonate strong enough to be secure?
It is the same family of material used in machine guards. Combined with steel laths carrying the load, it is a genuine security product.
Will the panels yellow?
Quality polycarbonate with UV protection resists yellowing well. Cheaper grades do discolour. We tell you what grade we are quoting so you can compare fairly.
Can damaged panels be replaced?
Yes, individually, without rebuilding the shutter.
How do I clean it?
Soft cloth, mild soapy water. No solvents, thinners or abrasive cleaners.
