Two different products
Grill is steel rods or flats in a lattice. Very open, maximum visibility and airflow. The classic jewellery shop and mall frontage.
Perforated is solid laths with holes punched through. Less open, more rigid, more private, still lets light and air through.
Why shops choose them

The trade-off, honestly
Less privacy, and driven rain and dust get through. If your frontage faces an open road that catches heavy rain, or you would rather not display stock overnight, ask us about a combination: solid laths below, grill above.

Is it as secure as a solid shutter?
Against forced entry, a well-built grill in the right gauge is comparable. What it does not give you is privacy or protection from rain and dust.
Grill or perforated?
Grill is rods or flats in a lattice, so it is very open. Perforated is solid laths with holes, so it is more rigid and more private but less open.
Can I have solid below and grill above?
Yes, we build combination shutters regularly. Privacy at eye level, visibility and ventilation above.
